Off to Casa Bonita for an evening of entertainment and food! Casa Bonita is the best place for enjoying noise, music and entertainment. Food is in second place. After remodeling by the boys of South Park several years ago, the place is so much fun. Uniquely, it’s the only restaurant with a security entrance, just like the airport.
Food options are Mexican dishes focused on tacos and burritos. Of course, there is a full page of cocktails, wine, and beer options. I chose the taco salad with a side of chicken tinga. Twenty years ago, food was almost not edible, but now it has greatly improved.
The taco salad not only looked good, it tasted good. The salad was loaded in with different types of lettuce, grated cheese, salsa, corn, and even radishes sitting in a large toasted flour bowl. The side dish of chicken tinga was the hit of the evening. The shredded chicken with chilies and onions was excellent.
After the food, the fun begins! The diving show is crazy, especially when they do a cannonball to shower the crowd with a splash of water.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
