Silk Road (Pittsburgh)

Mile High Dining attended a family reunion in Pennsylvania and made a side trip to Pittsburgh. My sister selected a Chinese restaurant, Silk Road. It’s an American-style Chinese restaurant with a friendly staff. Two of us had an entrée while my sister had two appetizers.

The steamed dumplings appetizer looked great, but was too tough. The dumplings are filled with pork and vegetables but they were diappointing. The other appetizer, crab Rangoon, was better. They are filled with water chestnuts and crab meat.

The General Tso’s chicken filled the plate with large chunks of chicken that were fried resulting in a crispy outside. The dish, definitely enough for a second meal, was rated good.

Mile High Dining had the stirfry General Tso’s chicken. It is a large serving that filled the plate. The chicken is stirfried with lots of Tso sauce. It was good, but there were no vegetables present. Both of the chicken dishes need additional vegetables to add some different flavors.

My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

The verdict ⚖️ for the Silk Road restaurant is It’s OK. Please remember it’s American style Chinese dishes as they lack vegetables.
