My Neighbor Felix- Don Julio

My Neighbor Felix – Centennial hosted a 6 course meal paired with 6 tequila flights. The 6 courses were cohosted with flights of Don Julio Tequila. Each food dish and tequila drink was explained by the head chef and a representative of Don Julio Tequila. The diner lasted almost 3 hours and Mile High Dining only sipped each of the 6 flights of tequila so I could drive home.

The food dishes went from shrimp tostadas, jicama salad, scallops, grilled lamb, sangrita, and flan. Each dish was matched with a tequila cocktail or shot. The food, especially the tostadas, scallops, and grilled lamb were good. Several of the tequila drinks were too spicy with added peppers or with too many different citrus juices, causing the tequila flavor to be lost.

The grilled lamb with corn purée won the best dish of the evening. Overall, the enjoyment of the food exceeded the tequila drinks!

My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

The verdict ⚖️ for My Neighbor Felix /Don Julio Pairings is Good.
