Florence Supper Club

After trying for months to obtain a table reservation, Mile High Dining finally figured out a way to eat at the Florence Supper Club. We arrived at 4:40 p.m. and stood in a line outside the restaurant until they opened it to secure two of the seats at the first come, first served bar.

The Supper Club sells out almost every night because it is a very popular old-school red-sauce Italian joint.

Mile High Dining and friend actually like sitting at a bar, as we find the service better. We shared four different plates and finished with a sip of grappa. Grappa is my test if it is a real Italian dinner, and the Florence Supper Club passed,

We started with a good Caesar salad, which is a great summer dish. Both the cheese and lettuce were delicious. The spicy rigatoni was just average, as the sauce dominated and the pasta was lost. The side dish of kale and beans was rejected as the large white beans were like concrete, as they were not cooked properly. The black cod was the best dish of the evening, and it saved our meal.

My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

The verdict ⚖️ for the Florence Supper Club is Good. It’s one of the hardest restaurants to obtain a reservation and we were disappointed in the quality of the food.
