On my annual trip to the Masters Golf tournament, Mile High Dining and golfing buddies stopped in Atlanta at Mac’s Chophouse. It’s a place with good food and very good service. They specialize in many different meats, but we all selected seafood dishes. We sat downstairs upon request as it was the focal point of the restaurant.
We had crabcakes and salad for starters. Both green salads, chopped gem and artesian green, were rated very good. The crabcakes were even better as there was lots of crab and very little filling.
The entrées, included black cod, trout, shrimp, and a double crabcake main dish. No one complained, and we were all quite satisfied. My miso black cod was delicious. The cod had a great light fish flavor. The trout dish was an entire trout filleted down the middle and it provided enough for a takeaway meal.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for Mac’s Chophouse is Very Good.
