Spring

Mile High Dining was lucky enough to attend the Masters Golf Tournament in Georgia. On my way home, I had supper with my sister at a Michelin Star restaurant, Spring, in Marietta, Ga.

It’s a small place for about 40 dinners and located right next door to the railroad tracks. The food is American based with just a few options. For starters we shared the tuna tartare which was small in size. It has a touch of chili oil to add a little spice. My white asparagus and potato salad was excellent. It is served with a spoon which I thought was odd for potato salad but it is used to scoop up the white cream sauce.

My sister had the roasted lamb and tenderloin. The lamb was soft and very favorable. The meats were paired with grain and a carrot. The kamut is an ancient grain with lots of crunch.

I enjoyed the pan fried halibut sitting on lots of collard greens and kale. It was very good. But maybe the best food of the evening was side dish of the house made bread.

My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

The verdict ⚖️ for Spring is Very Good. The food was the highlight while the white walls of the interior were disappointing.
