Alteno

Mile High Dining enjoyed an evening meal at the newest upscale Mexican restaurant, Alteno. It opened just weeks ago in Cherry Creek. We were treated well by the server, chefs, and even the bartender. The restaurant is owned and operated by Johnny Curiel of Alma Fonda Fina which was awarded a Michelin star!

Alteno inside is a great looking restaurant with a fancy chandelier and a hand painted ceiling over the bar. When we ate on a Sunday evening, it was filled with customers.

We had three different dishes which we shared. Each dish was presented at table side by the chef who prepared it and explained the ingredients.

The crab and avocado salad was the first dish. The lettuce went well to soften the slightly spicy crab. Definitely a good start.

My favorite dish was the habanero cornbread with butter. It sounded simple but the spice added an extra level of goodness to the bread.

Our main entree was the sea bass. It was sitting atop mild green peppers and onion in a lovely sauce. It had a very mild taste and we both enjoyed it.

My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

The verdict ⚖️ for Alteno is Excellent. One of just a handful of Excellent verdicts ever awarded. Well done!
