On a busy Friday night the Rio Grande was packed. It’s a new location after being on Blake St. for 23 years. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the water misting to handle the 95 degrees. We started out with 2 margaritas, strawberry and mezcal, with a side of chips and salsa. The mezcal was presented without a lime so it looked homemade but both margaritas tasted good.
We had a dish of 3 fish tacos, 1 Chile relleno, and the grilled chicken tostada. The tacos and relleno were delicious. The Chile relleno was served warm and sitting in a mix of green chiles and cheese. The tostada looked good but too much lettuce overwhelmed the chicken and cheese.
The ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for the Rio Grande is Good.
