Off to Jax Fish House and Oyster Bar for National Oyster Day. Jax is part of the Big Red F restaurant group that operates multiple locations of Jax Fish Houses, Post Chicken and Beer restaurants, Post brewery and several other restaurants. We ate at the Glendale location.
We had a dozen of Emersum fresh oysters, two oyster Rockefeller’s, and a large Jax’s Cesar salad with white anchovies. The Emersum oysters come from the Rappahannock River at the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia. They have less flavor than Maine oysters but at only two dollars each one cannot complain.
The oyster Rockefeller’s with cheese and bread crumbs served hot were delicious.
The large Jax’s Caesar salad with white anchovies was a hit. It’s very large sized salad and enough for two to share. The anchovies provide a great salty fish taste.
My ratings are: It’s Ok, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
