Of A Kind

Mile High Dining went to one of the newest restaurants in Denver at the Clayton Hotel in Cherry Creek. Of A Kind is located in the remodeled Inn at Cherry Creek. It has an open kitchen and a large bar surrounded by dining tables- very pretty. It’s open for dining from Tuesday to Saturday.

We tried to pick summer-only styled dishes and drinks- chardonnay, a raspberry spritz with pear cider, tuna tartare, asparagus, burrata, crispy potatoes, and gnocchi.

The tuna tartare and the plate of gem lettuce had a great presentation. Placing the tuna into the lettuce wraps made it a very good dish. The lettuce had a slight vinegar coating which paired well with the tuna.

The grilled asparagus with burrata cheeses, frisee lettuce, and lots of pistachios made a good summer dish. The salty pistachios went the best with the cheese as the asparagus lost its summer grilled flavor.

The crispy baby potatoes with red onion and small dollops of horseradish had a great flavor but the potatoes were slightly undercooked.

Lastly, the ricotta gnocchi with crab, leeks, and lemon was a good light summer dish. We wished there was more crab.

Overall, the food was good but the extra loud music soured Mile High Dining wanting to return. Our pleasant server told us they were having trouble controlling the volume. We enjoyed the quieter street noise on our way home.

My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

The verdict ⚖️ for Of A Kind is It’s OK. The food was good but the noise level lower the verdict.
