Mile High Dining enjoyed the warm summer weather at Officers Club in The Lowry community. The restaurant is open to the patio and has added outdoor seating. This small corner of Lowery has four different restaurants, parking is at a premium.
We enjoyed a margarita, a fancy cocktail, and a local beer to start. The first plate was a shared tower of tuna and mango poké. For mains, one had a halibut sandwich, another had the scallops, and one had the chili Relleno. The margarita and a beer were hits.
The Ahi tuna tower with housemade plantain chips went well with the mix of tuna and mangoes. A good dish to share at the table.
The halibut fish sandwich with kale and fries is very large in size as it fills the plate. The fish is beer-battered, then fried to a crispy outside. The sandwich has lettuce and tomatoes and the bun itself is stamped the restaurant’s initials.
The fish of the day was scallops with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The scallops were very good tasting and not overcooked. Also, they looked inviting sitting on the green asparagus. The side of potatoes was lost.
The third dish was the chili Relleno filled with mild cheese. The Relleno was sitting on a bed of corn quinoa. A very good presentation but lacked the expected spicy ness from a green chili.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for the Officers Club is Good.
