Mile High Dining enjoyed another takeaway meal from Il Posto on Larimer St. We ordered online and pick up for our Saturday routine. Il Posto was located on 17th Ave but moved to Larimer 4 years ago. It’s now on the busiest food and alcohol street in Denver.
When we arrived for our curbside pickup there was no place to park. The restaurant needs to appropriate a metered parking space or two to assist pick up orders. Even with a pandemic, this street is packed.
We ordered 4 dishes: calamari, gnocchi, risotto, and roasted veggies. First, the calamari with capers, parsley, kale, and tomato sauce. It is a large-sized serving and the calamari has a very soft texture sitting in the tomato sauce. Great tasting calamari.
The gnocchi had the best presentation. It had tomato sauce, garlic, basil, and mozzarella cheese. Mile High Dining added fresh basil leaves to brighten the dish. The gnocchi had a great tomato flavor.
The risotto fungi was pushed into a very small paper container as while as the other dishes but when plated it made a very poor presentation. The rice congealed into a lump. Larger containers are needed! Secondly, it lacked lots of sliced mushrooms. This dish was disappointing.
The grilled and roasted vegetables included carrots, cauliflower, eggplant, and broccolini. It looked great as the colors of the veggies made a great looking plate. It also tasted good.
Mile High Dining added added its own homemade lemon cake with extra lemon icing. Delicious.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict for Il Posto is Good. The restaurant needs to improve its parking problem and use larger sized containers.
