Tacos Tequila Whiskey

Tacos Tequila Whiskey Restaurant (Governor’s Park) is located at 7th and Sherman Streets, Denver, Co. This block is filled with a brewery and many restaurants, even an outdoor food hall. Not the only location, there are two other TTW’s in Highlands and City Park and a sister restaurant, Fish N Beer, in North RiNo.

TTW is a Mexican food style restaurant with a focused menu on tacos and tequila. No one drinks the whiskey here, but the name is catchy. TTW doesn’t serve burritos, tamales or other traditional Mexican plates. You’ll have to love tacos or go home.

On our last visit, it was a sunny day and the garage door was opened facing south, so we were able to sit in the sun in November.

We started with a couple of margaritas ( Purist- just tequila , lime juice and agave) and a Pinche Paloma, a margarita made with grapefruit juice. Next, chips and guacamole. An excellent way to start the meal as the guacamole is bright green and delicious.

Next, the three of us had 6 different tacos from pork to vegan. The Carnitas Taco is roasted pork. The Asada is citrus marinated steak. Lenqua is triple cooked tongue. Fish N Beer is fish beer battered with pickled onions. Abril is grilled cheese with peppers. Lastly, the Vegan has sautéed spinach and peppers.

They are presented on a single tray open faced, so not only do they taste well, they look great! Maybe one of the best presentations of the lowly taco in all of Denver.

One member of the party finished with a Pinche Lager Chelada, lime juice and beer. One area needs improvement is service, it’s okay but not as good as the tacos.

My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent,

The verdict ⚖️ for Tacos Tequila Whiskey is Good.o
