A small and cozy Ukrainian restaurant describes Molotov Kitschen. It was founded in January 2023 by its chef -owner, Bo Porytko and the food is focused on his Ukrainian heritage. It has received national attention by the New York Times which listed it as one of their favorite restaurants in the United States for 2023.
Mile High Dining and friend shared two starters. The adjika pelmeni had Colorado Palisade peaches, and fermented peppers with a heavy cream. The dish looked great and was delicious. The other starter was crab and corn holubtsi which is stuffed cabbage, and it was a good tasting summer dish.
My friend’s main dish was the lamb shank with cucumber mizeria. The lamb was prepared with a crispy outside layer, but was only slightly tender. The cucumbers with sour cream dominated the flavor of the dish, which was disappointing.
I had the squash blossom fritter with giant lima beans and shaved squash. It sounded so good, but it was just average in taste.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for Molotov Kitschen is Good. It is recommended you focus on the starters for the best selection of taste.
