Happy Hour at Tavernetta is the food and social place to be especially in the lounge and bar area! Even on a weekday, reservations are highly recommended. Mile High Dining and friend sat at the bar and wanted to try the pasta flight.
We started with a shared salad, Insalata Mista, which is farm lettuce with pickled shallots and lots of shaved, parmigiano reggiano cheese. A very good and light tasting salad.
Next, the Roman pasta flight, which has four different pasta dishes. We shared, as it’s a lot of food. The rigatoni cacio Pepe has a mild flavor and a good starter dish. The next, rigatoni alla Gricia is similar to the first dish, but with bits of cured pork. The third pasta was bucatini carbonara with cheese, eggs, and cured pork was very good. The best dish was the Boccherini All’Amatriciana as the added tomatoes and chili flakes set this dish up as the best of the evening.
Mile High Dining loved the food and excellent service.
