Mile High Dining and friend visited Uchiko for lunch. It’s one of the new restaurants in Cherry Creek North. Uchiko has a sister restaurant, Uchi, in RINO. This new restaurant is very large and holds almost 300 diners with even a downstairs and a large private dining area. The restaurant has a beautiful interior.
We tried to sit at the chef’s counter, but it is open only at dinner time, so we selected the bar counter. As for food, we both selected the sushi Omakase, which had six different servings. First, the seaweed salad with green apple was light tasting and a good start. The best serving was the Hamma chili. The yellowtail and orange slices were a touch spicy but delicious. The next four sushi tastings were served altogether on one plate. The Tamaki and sashimi options were all good, especially the salmon, but it felt like we were at a buffet rather than Omakase style service of separate dishes. The style of service was disappointing.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for Uchiko is Good.
