Skull Creek Boathouse

While visiting friends in Hilton Head South Carolina, Mile High Dining ate a late lunch at the Skull Creek Boathouse. The restaurant has a good outdoor patio, which we enjoyed after several colder days. The menu covers six pages of food and drink options, definitely too much. Since we were in the deep south, I selected fried green tomatoes and South Carolina oysters. One friend went north and selected the New England platter while the other had a crabcake sandwich.

My fried green tomatoes were big and tasty but a little too undercooked. The crispy coating was good, but the thick green tomatoes were a little tough while the cheese and pepper jelly provided a good ending. The New England lunch platter was rated very good as the seafood chowder soup was delicious. The third dish of the crab sandwich with lettuce and tomato had a good crab flavor. To end my meal, I enjoyed a Bombshell Blonde beer.

My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

The verdict ⚖️ for Skull Creek Boathouse is Good.
