Mile High Dining enjoyed a Mexican meal at El Taco De Mexico. It is 40 years old this year and it is a classic no frills joint. For a place with little ambience, it was honored by the James Beard Foundation in 2020 as one of America’s classic eateries. The staff is mostly females that produce good food but limited service.
I had the combination plate of a large chile relleno, lettuce, tomato, rice, beans, and 2 large flour tortillas. After it arrived I had to ask for utensils and a napkin.
The chile relleno was good and tasty while the rice and beans were so-so as they lacked flavor. The flour tortillas and chile relleno held the meal together.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for El Taco De Mexico is Good.
