Margot

Mile High Dining and 2 friends ate at Margot which was awarded a Michelin Star. It‘s a new restaurant with a different approach to dining. They recommend that the table share the small plates, so we followed with 6 plates and a dessert.

We studied the menu which had 16 different options with an emphasis on vegetables. We started with the smoked trout dip on grilled bread. The dip was good as the grilled bread was delicious. The Badger beets with yogurt and marigolds were tops as the beets melted in your mouth. The grilled cauliflower with basil and trout roe was green in color, but it tasted good. The squash on grilled bread was not bad at all. The two main dishes were gnocchi and meatballs. The gnocchi with baby tomatoes and Parmesan cheese was very good. The lamb meatballs were disappointing as they lacked a good flavor. My friends enjoyed the toffee cake with ice cream.

Overall, the restaurant has a set of beautiful windows, but you can only see automobiles parked next to the restaurant. Maybe some modest drapes would help. Additionally, each dish needed a more detailed explanation of all the different types of ingredients used.

My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

The verdict ⚖️ for Margot is Very Good.
