On a beautiful evening, Mile High Dining and a friend with her dog, Zoey, ate outside at The Patio at Sloans. It’s one of the few restaurants in Denver that actually encourages and allows dogs to join their owners on the outdoor patio. The majority of the dogs that evening were quiet and sat under the table, except for one barking dog.
The food at the Patio at Sloans is Mexican focused without the strong chili flavors. We enjoyed the fried pickles as a shared appetizer. It was my first experience with fried pickles and was surprised they are not sour tasting, but just juicy. A good start. My friend enjoyed the grilled peach salad with added grilled chicken. It was rated good and enough for a small takeaway.
I started with the cucumber cooler cocktail with the fancy red bird ornament. A good looking drink to start the evening. Next, I had the three Cajun shrimp tacos, which looked great, but I had to ask for extra hot sauce to spice them up. Certainly, a mellow tasting taco.
