After a take away meal 5 years ago due to COVID , Mile High Dining visited Blue Island Oyster Bar in Cherry Creek North. I and my neighbor enjoyed walking to the restaurant from our condo to enjoy a summer evening.
There are several outside tables along the front sidewalk but we preferred indoors. You are presented with a very large menu and lots of fresh oyster options. The restaurant was very busy so service was a little slow, but no problem. I selected a cup of clam chowder and the fish of the day, Pacific Seabass. My neighbor had the classic fish and chips and ordered a pint of clam chowder to go.
The clam chowder had a clam fritter sitting on top. It’s a mild style chowder as I even had to add some pepper. The crab stuffed Pacific Seabass was very tasty. The fish was the highlight. It was presented sitting atop lots of small potatoes and steamed spinach. The potatoes and spinach were overwhelming. Next time I will just order the plain Seabass.
The cracker crusted fish is cod which was sitting on top of lots of chips. It also was a mild flavored fish. The crust was very crispy due to the crackers. The crunchy crisp saved the day.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for Blue Island Oyster Bar and Seafood is Good.
