Mile High Dining visited one of the newest upscale Mexican restaurants in Miami, Florida. Bistro 8 is located on the end of a small strip mall but once inside its well decorated. The three of us shared 3 appetizers and 2 main dishes. A complementary petit fours were presented and they were covered by parmesan cheese. A good start as they were light and mild tasting.
The ceviche verde was even enhanced by our server when he spooned the sauce all over the fish. A good dish. My favorite appetizer was the Peruvian style kampachi. The very thin slices of fish were sitting in a soy sauce base. Delicious. The third appetizer was the tostadas which are hard to cut and share but we did well.
The short ribs with mole and almonds was braised then chili sauce is added. It was very good. The fish of the day was prepared in a fancy rotating oven that seared the outside of the fish while the insides were still soft and great tasting.
My ratings are: It’s Ok, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for the Bistro 8 is Very Good.
