El Five hosted the Lunar Dinner with 7 food dishes matched with 7 mocktails. Since Mile High Dining was completing a dry January, we happily participated.
The 7 food dishes were: caviar, crab, burrata, cod, ham, Wagyu, and coffee cake. My three favorites were the crab, smoked burrata, and the Turkish coffee cake. The crab with Yuzu and rhubarb was light and delicious. The smoked burrata cheese was very tasty, especially paired with the apple Mojito drink. The coffee cake with fruit conserva was an excellent finish although the espresso with pineapple and blackberry juices was way too sweet.
When we finished this 3 hour marathon of a meal, we were even presented with a small bottle of the “old fashion” elixir to take home and make your own mocktail.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for the Lunar dinner at El Five is Very Good.
