Salt Water Social

Mile High Dining went to another new restaurant, Salt Water Social. It’s an upscale place that previously housed a Thirsty Lion Tavern. It’s dull on the outside but big and bright inside. It opened several weeks ago and is operated by the Kona Grill folks.

The three of us shared the salad appetizer and each had an entrée dish. One ordered a beer as the menu does not even list any beers. The server found a couple choices. Also, I ordered an iced tea, but was later told they had none. The food was able to make a comeback.

The shared rainbow salad with lettuce, beets, carrots, and pomegranate seeds with a light dressing was very good. The entrée dish of the four scallops I had was good. The tuna entrée with lots of rice and crab pieces was the best dish of the evening. The spices on the fish set it apart. The third dish, cioppino, was good as the tomato broth helped the seafood.

My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

The verdict ⚖️ for the Salt Water Social is Good. It’s pricey but matches the neighborhood.
