Mile High Dining and two others went to the Chocolate, Cheese, and Wine Class at the Hudson Gardens. It was a very large class of about 80 chocolate and wine lovers. We started with a taste of raw cocoa beans and nibs which are not sweet but bitter. It was a first for me.
Each of the four different wines, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Riesling were paired with two kinds of chocolate and one cheese.
The Pinot noir from California definitely won the flavor test as it was good and strong. Since I just had a little taste of the chocolates there was no winner. Sadly, the cheese was just a small piece and it was an afterthought as everything was dominated by the chocolates.
Overall, it was an enjoy evening especially since it was situated in the beautiful Hudson Gardens.
