Sushi Class

Mile High Dining participated in making sushi in a class sponsored by the University of Denver Enrichment program. It was my first attempt to make sushi and it was fun. The end product looked good and tasted OK.

Eight students were taught by a sushi chef at Uncorked Kitchen and Wine Bar how to make two different types of sushi rolls. One roll was with rice, cucumber, avocado, and white fish. The other roll had the rice on the outside with salmon and avocado placed on top of the roll.

It was relatively easy to make when you have a sushi chef show you and then help you! One needs just a few items such as a bamboo rolling mat, a good sharp knife, and simple ingredients, such as sushi rice, nori, avocado, cucumber, and fresh salmon.
