Mile High Dining visited the newest Beau Jo’s Pizza restaurant that just opened in August. The Denver shop is located next to the University of Denver campus. It’s clean and big. Beau Jo’s started in Idaho Springs 50 years ago and serves Colorado-style pizza especially when you put honey on the extra large crust to enjoy.
I had the mountain pie with roasted red peppers, Hatch’s green chilies, and lots of mozzarella cheese. No beer but a zero sugar Pepsi. Their pizzas are sized not by inches but by pounds. I had the small one-pound size. It was very good, especially with the cheese and Hatch’s green chilies. Of course I added honey to the crust pieces. Definitely large enough to take half home.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
