We were off to Louisville to enjoy summer weather and barbecue Texas style at Lulu’s BBQ. It’s a small restaurant but with a large outdoor patio area. Lulu’s smokes the meat daily and even a vegetarian can enjoy the smoked tofu sandwich.
Outside on the back patio, we had the pit sandwich, hot mess sandwich, and the rib tips with lots of iced tea since it was about 95° outside.
The pit sandwich with a side of slaw had brisket and was good after you added lots of spicy barbecue sauce. The hot mess sandwich had both brisket and pork with a side of lots of sweet potato fries. The sandwich was big enough for two. The rib tips with the sweet sauce are the leftover ends of the rack of ribs. They were tasty but tough to chew.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
