The 3 of us went to Beckon. It is a Michelin Star restaurant temporarily being housed next door in their sister restaurant, Major Tom, thus a moon landing. It’s a very small space, especially with the number of servers and chefs working on our 8-course tasting menu.
After starting with a taste of lavender and rhubarb formed into a Danish snack, Aebleskiver, we started with Chinese lettuce called Celtuce and caviar. The sesame sauce held the dish together. By the way, the lettuce was grilled outside.
The third dish was the Snow trout and it’s very mild tasting. Next, the Langoustine with leek and basil foam was delicious. Definitely, the best taste of the evening. The largest plate was the pork cutlet with several small ribs and grilled cabbage. Very tasty.
The first sweet dish was a cookie holding green tea ice cream and we all loved the ice cream. The final dish was the rhubarb bonbons which were excellent.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for Beckon is Excellent. Great service matched with interesting and different food makes a great combination.
