Mile High Dining and a neighbor went to the newest Cholon at Sloan’s Lake. It’s on the ground floor of a high-rise with a partial view of the lake. The restaurant is bright and airy with lots of windows and a beautiful bar. The server explained the plates were meant to be shared and answered questions about several ingredients.
We started with spring rolls and dumplings. The chicken spring rolls with creamy cilantro were good as the dipping sauce helped with flavor. The French onion dumplings were delicious and the highlight of the evening.
The crab fried rice with peas and shallots was prepared in a Wok and had lots of crab pieces. The dish is large in size and good taste. The lemongrass chicken Satay had lots of lettuce to hold the chicken taco style with sliced veggies. It’s a great presentation but the seasoning dominated the chicken flavor. Also, it’s a little messy to eat.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for Cholon at Sloan’s is Good.
