Mile High Dining enjoyed a Sunday lunch at the Fox and the Hen. The place was filled inside and out as it was summertime weather. The restaurant is operated by the Culinary Creative Group that operates about a dozen restaurants, coffee shops and cocktail bars in Denver. Partner and chef, Carrie Baird runs the Fox and the Hen. She has won many awards including a James Beard and her dish “Beat Bobby Flay” of green pork chiles huevos rancheros won! My
The restaurant is open daily for breakfast and lunch. The menu is very extensive from muffins, fancy toast, burritos, and even a children’s menu.
I selected the spicy Michelada and the dish that beat Bobby Flay, huevos rancheros. The drink is spicy tomato and lime juices with extra spices but softened with a beer which I needed. The Bobby Flay dish has green chiles and pork, 2 eggs sunny side up, flour tortilla, and a generous topping of crema. It not only looked good it was also delicious.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for the Fox and the Hen is Very Good.
