Mile High Dining went South to Castle Rock to the new upscale Mexican restaurant, Los Dos Potrillos. Inside it’s a beautiful building with lots of windows and a great view of the mountains. They do not take reservations so try for a weekday as the place was packed last Sunday with a 2-hour wait list. It’s family-owned and operated along with their other restaurants but the Castle Rock is the prettiest place. They are also brewing their own beer at the restaurant.
I enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa to start. My main dish was the crispy chile rellenos paired with a house margarita. The chile rellenos are smothered in green chile with a side of beans and rice. The cheese-filled chiles were very good, especially with the lettuce and tomatoes topping. Sadly the extra topping of green chiles was too much and smothered the dish.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for Los Dos Potrillos is Good. The beautiful space dominates and is worth a visit.
