Le French 9 & C0

Mile High Dining and a friend went to Le French 9 & CO. It’s a new restaurant operated by 2 sisters from Senegal. They also have a restaurant at their original location in Centennial. The new location has a great interior design. A small lounge area adjoining the bar which you walk by to the main dining area. There is even a giant wine rack.

The dinner menu has lots of options from small plates to many entrées. We selected Les Pastels which is a dish from Senegal to share. A flour pastry shell is fried after it is filled with tuna and chili and sits on a bed of caramelized tomatoes and onions. Definitely something different, but it was just OK.

My friend had the Poulet (chicken) crêpe served with a large green salad sitting on top. The crêpe itself was soft and had a good taste.

I had the bowl of bouillabaisse which had shrimp, mussels, scallops, and fish. The bowl was good, but not great as the tomato-based broth was too mild flavored. Also, one needs a side dish that was missing to place the shells after eating the shrimp and mussels.

Sadly, the service was below expectations. One example is that the two different servers in our area told us they were not waiting on our table, but it was the other’s responsibility.

My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

The verdict ⚖️ for Le French 9 & CO is Good.
