Matsuhisa

Mile High Dining and friends went to the upscale Japanese restaurant, Matsuhisa. The restaurant is part of Nobu Matsuhisa’s empire of over 40 worldwide restaurants and 13 hotels. He has also written seven books and has appeared in a James Bond movie. The restaurants range from Tokyo to Paris and every place in between. The Denver restaurant is beautifully decorated.

We each had a non-alcoholic drink, apple juice or hot green tea to continue the Dry January challenge. The cup of hot green tea was perfect for a cold evening. We shared a good green salad that had carrots cut like little flowers.

One of the special dishes is yellowtail jalapeño sashimi, which is presented like artwork. The fish taste great, especially with the small thin slices of pepper. We also ordered a new side appetizer called Miso chips which has a slice of salmon on a potato chip.

The classic dish was the black cod, which was simply presented, but had a great flavor.

We had the green tea and carrot cake flavored mochi ice cream again beautiful artwork. The bite-size ice cream was tops.

My ratings are: It’s OK , Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

The verdict ⚖️ for Matsuhisa is Excellent. Definitely one of the prettiest presentations of sushi!
