Cattivella

Mile High Dining and a friend went to Cattivella, an Italian restaurant. It’s owned and headed by chef, Elise Wiggins. The restaurant has an open kitchen which is a good sign. Also it has an open flame grill and the classic pizza oven. The place was packed when we arrived on a Saturday evening.

We each had a glass of wine and shared an appetizer which is titled Uva Arrosta. It’s a plate of grilled bread, goat cheese, walnuts, and roasted grapes. The walnuts and roasted grapes seem like an afterthought. The cheese and bread were delicious but you could not easily place and hold the grapes or walnuts on the bread. It was a disappointing appetizer.

The large plate of scallops with risotto saved the evening! The 5 large scallops were delicious. They were presented on a bed of risotto with tomatoes and lots of green type of parsley. The dish was very good. We each had the scallop dish as we could not resist!

My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

The verdict ⚖️ for Cattivella is Good. Of course there are lots of pizza and pasta options.
