Ash’Kara

Mile High Dining and a friend went to Ash’Kara to enjoy Happy Hour and sat outside to enjoy a beautiful late afternoon. It may be the last of the season. Ash’Kara serves “Unorthodox Cuisine”. They were awarded the Michelin “Bib Gourmand” for good quality food and a good value. The food was good but the service was missing.

We shared dishes from the Happy Hour menu and a glass of red wine from Hotchkiss, Colorado. The Mezza Plate had Babaganoub (eggplant), Hipipiti(red pepper), and Labaneh(yogurt). A touch spicy but with pita bread is was good. The Pita bread which is presented like a small pillow is the highlight. The chicken kebab was delicious and very tender while the lamb kebab was just okay as it was a little too chewy. Lastly, the Fattoush salad with fried flatbread, olives, and Feta cheese was a good warm-weather salad.

My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

The verdict⚖️ for Ash’Kara is Good.
