Hop Alley

Mile High Dining went out for Chinese at Hop Alley, also an award winner of the “Bib” from Michelin. The name of the restaurant is based upon the entrance to the former Chinese neighborhood in Denver. It’s now located in a building that was a soy sauce manufacturing plant! It’s a causal place with good food.

I ordered fried wontons, Chinese cauliflower, and a special drink Baijiu, which is made from sorghum. The Baijiu was not listed on the drink menu but was from a private stash. First, the fried wontons filled with cream cheese, and scallions were presented with a sauce. They were warm and delicious. The main dish of Chinese cauliflower is prepared in a bean sauce. It’s presented with mild flavored peppers, other vegetables, and a side of rice. The plate is very good and certainly filling. A perfect match to sip the Baijiu.

My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

The verdict ⚖️ for Hop Alley is Very Good.
