Mile High Dining and my two transplanted Texas friends went to AJ’s Pit Bar-B-Q to enjoy Texas-style barbecue. AJ’s just received the “ Bib Gourmand “ award from the Michelin Dining Guide for good quality meals and good value. In fact, they were displaying the award! It’s definitely Texas-style as your meat is placed on brown paper covering the metal tray, with no plates. A side of beans or other selections is placed in a plastic tub. It’s a very simple presentation of food sitting on Brown paper.
We sat outside on a covered patio to enjoy the meals. I also found a beer from Texas, Shiner. I enjoyed the pulled pork with a side of Farm Slaw. The pork was delicious and very tender. My friends each had beef brisket and sides of beans and potato salad. The brisket was rated just average as it was not tender enough.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent
