Mile High Dining and a friend went to Luca, which many diners describe as one of the best Italian restaurants in Denver. We were greeted timely and were offered a complimentary glass of wine or an alcohol-free drink. Both selected a glass to match the Orange Creamsicle cocktail with an orange slice on top.
I started with the House made Burrata cheese. The cheese with tomato conserva was delicious but it was overwhelmed by the amount of bread. My friend had the Luca salad with arugula. A good light and summery dish.
We each selected a pasta dish. I had the signature, Mushroom Fussilli, which had wild mushrooms and a creamy sauce with cheese. Good but not great. My friend had the Bucatini Pomodoro which is red sauce with basil on a spaghetti type of noodle. It tasted good.
Sadly, we had to wait too long for our main pasta dishes to arrive. Then we received the wrong bill. Another wait.
My ratings are: It’s Ok , Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for Luca is Good. Since this was my first visit, I was disappointed as the service fell short.
