Mile High Denver attended the Beer and Cheese Pairing Class at the Breckenridge Brewery. The class was held after we received a tour of the brewery to learn how beer is made. Of course, we were given a glass of beer for the tour. More than one-half of the class were women and I thought women only drink wine!
We had 5 samples of beer paired with 5 different cheeses. The beer was from Light Palisade Peach beer to stronger ales. The cheeses started with Burrata and ended with a strong cheese from Croatia. One unique cheese was presented looking like a flower on the plate. It’s from Switzerland and its name is “ Tete De Moine” or the head of a monk as it is shaved from a cylinder block of cheese looking like the bald head of a monk.
A very educational and enjoyable evening to learn about beer and cheese. Thinking you only pair cheese with wine, my food experience is expanded.
