Four of us when to Machete in Cherry Creek to get the out-of-state family members’ Mexican food. Machete provides handcrafted margaritas and their specialty, tacos. It’s a small place on the basement level with some outside patio seating. Everyone selected a margarita and we started with chips, salsa, and guacamole.
The house Margaritas are extra large while the Coin Margaritas were regular sized. Everyone liked the drinks while the salsa needed a little more spice to satisfy all family members.
The tacos consisted of lamb, fish, and stuffed pepper. The lamb/Barbacoa was flavorful and good tasting. The Pescado is lightly fried and good. While the stuffed pepper taco was delicious. One had a tortilla with squid ink, beans, and rice which filled the plate. It was given the thumbs up.
Although it’s a small place, the margaritas, and food make up for the lack of space.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
