Pollinator Dinner at El Five

Mile High Dining attended a five-course chef’s tasting menu with wine pairings in honor of Pollinator Week. Each course had the chef came out and explain the food and the wine Director explained the wine pairing. Then we learned about the type of bee or other pollinator involved with the flower. The combination of the three provided good food, wine, and education. We learned Pollinators include not only bees but wasps and midges.

The five courses were as follows: 1. Apples, Jamon Iberico, honey, and flowers. 2. Figs, goat cheese, almonds, and apricots. 3. Squash, anchovy, tomatoes, and fennel. 4. Wagyu loin, cashews, herbs, and chocolate. 5. Vanilla cream, blueberries, and honeycomb.

The food was excellent but the education about the food, wine, and pollinators was the highlight!

This was not a review of the restaurant but nevertheless, the Verdict for the Pollinators Dinner was Excellent!
