After days of rain, Mile High Dining went to a bar in RINO, Federales. It has an open top to the sky, so we enjoyed an outing in warm weather. Larimer and 29th St. in Denver is the hopping area of town, with restaurants, bars, and lots of young people.
I sat at the bar and enjoyed a spicy margarita, and a cod taco with pickled jalapeño peppers aïoli. The finish was an “ice shot”!
The margarita with jalapeño flavor was very good. The cod taco with cabbage and pickled jalapeño aïoli was spicy and delicious. The hit of the evening was the “ice shot”! The ice cube shaped like a shot glass holds the tequila. After you slurp the cold tequila, then you throw the ice cube at the bell. Oh, I hit the bell! A fun way to go.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for the Federales is Very Good. Enjoy the loud music, margaritas, and “ice shots”! The staff at the bar was friendly and provided good service.
