Uchi is an upscale sushi restaurant that started in Austin Texas. Mile High Dining went on a Sunday evening and sat at the chef’s counter. We love watching the chefs work and for their helpful advice on what fish to select. I enjoyed a saki entitled “ The Way of the Warrior”. For fish, we had salmon, tuna, mackerel, and snapper. Also added was a fresh oyster.
The Nigri salmon was good as while as the golden eye snapper. The best was the Norwegian mackerel with a strong fishy taste. The last was the big-eye tuna which had the best color and presentation. We finished with one fresh oyster with Fresno chile peppers. It was quite different but delicious.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for Uchi is Very Good. I recommend you sit at the chef’s counter.
