Bistro Vendome relocated from Larimer St. to Park Hill, so Mile High Dining had to try it out. The three of us loved the remodeled interior. By 6:00 pm it was packed with customers. Once the warm weather arrives you can sit outside on the patio. The menu has many options from small plates to entrees. The wine list is mostly French wines and is extensive and expensive.
One had the classic steak and Frites. It was grilled Hangar Steak with a lot of french fries. The steak was tender and had a good taste. There was also a side dish of a small petite salad with mixed greens.
Another had the Merquez which is lamb and pork sausage, prepared with lots of fava beans and small tomatoes. It was rated very good. A side bowl of soup, allium, which is garlic, was declared delicious as it was presented with lots of cheese.
I had three small plates, lobster bisque, onion, tart, and grilled asparagus. The lobster bisque was delicious with the cream and the lobster pieces. The onion tart with the Gruyere cheese was different and good. The asparagus, with aïoli, was just so-so as the asparagus lacked flavor.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for the Bistro Vendome is Very Good.
