Sushi Den

Mile High Dining went to Denver’s most popular place for sushi at the Sushi Den. The Sushi Den and it’s mate, Izakaya Den have been combined together. Check out the beautiful bar upstairs. They informed us they have plans to expand further down South Pearl Street.

We had not been to Sushi Den in several years and enjoyed the visit on a Sunday evening. We shared three plates and I had a light Saki as I could not resist the name, Suijin which means God of Water.

The first plate was the taste of Sashimi which had 3 types of fish and was decorated with a slice of watermelon radish. The tuna was the best tasting of the three while the hamachi and salmon were good. The grilled calamari with asparagus was the second plate. With the small tomatoes, the plate made a good presentation. I tasted better calamari so this came in second place. The third dish was the Maine lobster tempura with mushrooms and greens. Both of us loved trying to use our chopsticks to pick up the large pieces of lobster. Nevertheless, it was delicious especially using the spicy dipping sauce.

My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

The verdict ⚖️ for the Sushi Den is Very Good. Next time, we will request to sit upstairs at the beautiful bar.
