Mile High Dining and three others went north for Italian food at Parma Trattoria. Once again the place was packed with customers. Parma was spared from the horrible fire last year as the flames blew right over the restaurant.
The four of us shared two appetizers, calamari and a cheese plate. The calamari was a plate, full of deep-fried, tender squid. It was delicious. The cheese plate had three different cheeses, olives, and greens. It was rated good.
The main dishes were all very large in size and 3 of us needed takeaway boxes for the extras. I had the Rapa salad with a slice of salmon. The salad had beets, cheese, and peanuts. It was good. The Trota is a whole filleted trout with potatoes and spinach. It was rated very good tasting. The largest plate was the Brasato, a leg of lamb sitting on sweet potatoes. Definitely enough for two. Despite its size, it was very tender and flavorful. The one traditional plate was spaghetti and meatballs. Again, very large sized and the meatballs were the best part.
2 diners had dessert and we concluded that Parma was one of the better restaurants in Louisville.
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for Parma Trattoria is Very Good.
