Monaco Inn

Mile High Dining and others went to the Monaco Inn for Greek food. The Monaco Inn has been open since 1986. Three of us ordered classic Greek dishes while one had salmon. We enjoyed two appetizers. The flaming cheese was the highlight of the evening. The Saganaki is Kasseri cheese covered in rum and then lit on fire. What a show and it’s good to eat after it has cooled down. Mike’s appetizer plate was covered in classic Greek items such as dolmades, grilled shrimp, feta cheese, and olives. Delicious!

The three classic dishes covered chicken, eggplant/ground beef, and macaroni/ground beef. The Paros is grilled chicken and a side of three delicious spanakopitas (baked phyllo dough covering cheese ). The chicken was very good tasting.

The Pastitsio holds layers of macaroni with ground beef and feta cheese. It’s a very large portion, and it was described as very good.

The third dish, Mousaka, is lots of eggplants, sitting on ground beef and covered in cheese. Again it’s a large portion and also given a good grade.

We each enjoyed a glass of Greek wine, and I finished with a taste of ouzo, which is classic Greek liquor.

My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

The verdict ⚖️ for the Monaco Inn is Good. Two of the plates needed help in their presentation. Additional herbs or lettuce added to the plate would highlight the good food.
