Mile High Dining and two others went to a new upscale French restaurant, Noisette. It’s operated by a husband and wife team and both are graduates of the French Culinary Institute. The restaurant menu is based upon food for the people. It’s also connected to their small bakery.
We started with two red wines and a yellow cocktail with two ingredients that one had to use Google to learn what was in the cocktail.
The drinks were matched with the baguette, sun-chokes and snail appetizers. The baguette with brown butter was delicious while the other two were forgettable. The snail is done hush puppy style causing the snail flavor to be lost while the sun-chokes looked good but lacked flavor.
The three main dishes saved the evening. The trout, monkfish and duck breast each had a great presentation and flavor to match. They were also presented with a small bowl of potatoes. We shared a taste of each dish and all enjoyed! Also, I was treated to a sip of absinthe to finish the meal. It was 80 percent alcohol so one sip was enough!
My ratings are: It’s OK, Good, Very Good, and Excellent.
The verdict ⚖️ for Noisette is Very Good. Limit yourself to a glass of wine and the main dish and the verdict will jump.
