Mile High Dining experienced a traditional Italian/American Christmas Eve meal, Feast of the Seven Fishes. It is based upon Catholics not eating meat on the eve of the Christmas holiday. The number seven aligns with the seven sacraments and the seven days of the week created by God. We ate the Feast at the affordable Jax Fish House.
Dishes included tuna conversa, stuffed and charred calamari, little gems lettuce with anchovies, pan-seared branzino with clams, and a small bowl of oyster and crab. The dessert of honey-soaked stuffoli (donuts) put you over the top.
The unique dish was the stuffed calamari. A great Christmas presentation of green and red and a delicious flavor. Lastly, I was able to enjoy my favorite beer, El Corn, a gold medal winner.
